Vessels are sending AIS signals to announce, e.g., a new position. To get a time relative context, these messages contain, besides the new coordinates, a timestamp when the signal was sent. FleetMon processes these signals in a few seconds and displays them on the live map.
With signal age, filter settings can be refined. Transmitted AIS signals are displayed live on the map after a few seconds. The signal age is not older than 24 hours by default.
💡 Note: If min and max on the slider are equal, the given setting + 1 minute is displayed, with Live everything up to one-minute signal age is shown on the FleetMon Explorer. |
